Data Licensing Pipeline

We connect owners of historical company data with the AI labs buying it — and publish the funnel as we work it.

The opportunity: frontier AI labs pay $100K–$2M+ per company for historical workflow data — years of Slack, email, tickets, code, and documents. We source the companies, screen them, and make the introductions.

Top licensing targets — under $100K, where the data pays for the deal

Sub-$100K listings only, ranked by capture-to-price ratio. Every link below was verified Oct 13, 2026 to open the actual listing page. This tier churns fast: 4 of the original 8 targets (including the #1 and #2) were delisted or went off market within a day of the scan, so the board now shows the 4 verified-live listings. Combined ask: $295K. All are micro accounting & tax practices flagged as exceptions on staff size (none discloses 5+ employees) — captures are unproven at this scale. One live price cut: Richmond dropped $85K → $65K, improving its ratio to 0.42x.

3Accounting Practice Sales + Poe Group Advisors
accountingpracticesales.com

network5/10No measured yield — partnership not yet opened. Named in the v4 scan as the Route A resale channel for sub-floor archives (resell/license de-identified archives via SimpleClosure/Sunset-type channels).
8BizScout
bizscout.com
marketplace5/10No measured yield yet — discovered in the Oct 13, 2026 rescore spot-check: sub-$100K asks present in target geographies ($66K TX franchise resale, $75K/$90K Spokane chiropractic practices, $85K TX retail). Baseline starts now.
9LinkedIn
linkedin.com
network4/10Origination point for Tally (funnel sweep); the designated first-move channel for nearly all 21 funnel candidates. Zero for-sale inventory of its own.
10BusinessBroker.net
BusinessBroker.net
marketplace4/10No direct ranked targets yet; v3/v4 scans repeatedly surfaced it as a mirror (a BizQuest target mirrored here; a v3 target's location resolved via its mirror). Spot-check Oct 13, 2026 confirms live sub-$100K inventory.
11GlobalBX
globalbx.com
marketplace4/10v3 for-sale scan: 1 of 34 targets sourced here — the only non-BizBuySell-family marketplace to produce a ranked target before this rescore. v4 scan: a Dallas/Fort Worth medical billing listing visible but priced as a range and 1-3 staff — not qualifiable at the cap.
12SMERGERS
smergers.com
marketplace4/10No measured yield yet — discovered in the Oct 13, 2026 rescore spot-check: US sub-$100K full-sale listings exist (e.g. a $30K software company — but <2 employees; a $60K salon at 5-10 staff). Baseline starts now.
13BusinessesForSale.com
us.businessesforsale.com
marketplace3/10v4 sub-$100K scan: ZERO qualifying targets — asking prices are shown as ranges (e.g. $100K-$250K), so no listing could be confirmed at or under the cap in a target vertical. No v3 targets either.
14DealStream
dealstream.com
marketplace3/10v4 scan: cross-confirmed target #1's $85,000 price (listed on BizBuySell, BizQuest and DealStream) — corroboration value only, no unique target. Spot-check Oct 13, 2026: live target-vertical listings exist (a medical billing & RCM firm) but at $1.8M — far over cap.
15Transworld Business Advisors (tworld.com board)
tworld.com
marketplace3/10v4 scan: the #1 ranked target (Van Wert County OH tax practice) is a Transworld listing — but it was found and priced via BizBuySell/BizQuest, not the tworld.com board. No target has been sourced from the board directly.

ycombinator.com
network2/100 direct — the Inactive filter was not enumerable in the Oct 13 sweep; the pool's best member (Parker, W19) was found via TechCrunch instead. No for-sale inventory.
20Axial
axial.net
network2/10No data yet, and none expected at the cap: its floor (roughly $500K EBITDA) sits an order of magnitude above a sub-$100K asking price.

acquire.com
marketplace2/10v4 scan: zero qualifying (grouped with Microns/Empire as 'gated or startup-weighted; no verifiable sub-$100K services business with archive depth'). v1 sweep: listings uniformly small.

How we work — three routes, ranked by evidence

1 · Referrals & finder fees (primary)

We introduce qualified data owners to the buyers' programs and negotiated channel deals. Fees run $10K–$50K+ per signed company — up to 6% of deal value on the largest programs. Zero capital, fastest to first dollar.

2 · Seller-side advisory (opportunistic)

For live wind-downs and estates, we advise the seller — or bring qualified buyers to bankruptcy trustees and assignees who rarely market data assets at all — for a success fee. Proven demand: Google paid $10M for an airline's internal archive at a §363 auction; a major broker bid $7.5M.

3 · Ownership plays (strict rules)

Buying data assets as principal — from bankruptcies or by acquiring small businesses — only when the asset is distressed-priced or the data is a free option on a business worth owning without it. Otherwise the math favors referrals, and we pass.

The verticals we hunt — Top 10 by documented buyer demand

#VerticalWhy buyers want itEvidence
1Legal servicesA buyer publicly cut its law-firm entry bar to 6 employees, stating AI labs are prioritizing legal data; legal drafting is the canonical RL-environment example.Strongest evidence
2Finance & accountingAccounting firms qualify at 10 employees; a finance-data specialist raised $30M in October to source and license financial data.Effectively tied with #1
3Software & engineeringBuyers publicly recruit CTOs for production codebases with full dev workflow. Clearest small comp: ~$25K for a young startup's codebase.Strong
4Healthcare administrationClinical data is compliance-gated; the huntable slice is back-office and revenue-cycle workflow.Strong (admin slice)
5Professional services, consulting & BPOThe core broker program vertical, backed by a $1B stated 12-month buying commitment; payout bands $100K–$1M+.Strong
6Media & contentLargest documented payouts in the market (>$20M to rights holders) — but supply runs through rights aggregation, not company hunting.Real money, different supply
7Customer support operationsNamed data sources (Zendesk-type archives); monetizes bundled inside broader company archives.Component demand
8InsuranceNamed on one major buyer's vertical list; no program, deal, or price evidence found yet.Thin evidence
9Logistics & transportationNamed by two buyers; the $10M Spirit Airlines archive was substantially a logistics-ops dataset (a mega-deal, not a rate).Named, unpriced
10Real estateAction is in MLS listing-data licensing via gatekeepers; brokerage archives are undifferentiated.Gatekeeper market

Notably absent: sales-call archives — widely assumed valuable, but we found no evidence of buyers purchasing them as a category.
